
First Participatory Action on Energy Culture Held at Anamur Secondary School

26/06/2026A total of 250 students participated in the Participatory Actions of Energy Culture carried out in six schools in Anamur, in collaboration with Polat Energy Company, one of Türkiye’s leading companies in the renewable energy sector.
The activities involved the participation of the Projects Department of the Anamur District Directorate of National Education, teachers from the participating schools, and specialized staff from the partner company. The workshops were held at Rüştü Kazım Yücelen Vocational Training Center, Gazi Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Şehit Hasan Kuş Primary School, 15 Temmuz Milli İrade Primary School, Şükrü Köymen Primary School, and Kalınören Primary School.
The sessions focused on introducing students to renewable energy sources and promoting a more efficient and responsible use of energy as a way to contribute to a more sustainable future.
The activities included:
- Bingo: I’m Protecting My Planet!
- Energy Cards: Powered by the Wind.
- Building Wind Turbine Models.
- Distribution of worksheets and informative materials to take home.
- Bingo: Climate Change.
- Test and Brochure: I Am Also Involved in the Fight Against Climate Change!
These activities aimed to encourage the active participation of students, strengthen environmental awareness, increase knowledge of sustainable energy sources, and promote energy-saving habits. The experience proved highly beneficial for both the schools and the participants, supporting hands-on learning and raising awareness of current energy and environmental challenges.
